An Experience for Youth Basketball Players designed to develop new skills through self-correction; naturally and instinctually.
The Park Revival is open to players from K - 8th grades. TEAMS ARE CHOSEN BASED ON SKILL LEVEL so each player is continuously challenged to rise, compete and stay engaged.
Our goal is to build players’ confidence and improve their fundamental skills through games that are “unrehearsed.” players will learn to:
1) Perform skills using their instinct rather than programed moves and designed plays.
2) Learn to play with and against different types of players.
This type of game-play instills a personal belief in a players’s ability to self-correct, continuously get better, and positively contribute to any team they join…
As former basketball players and coaches on all levels of the game, we understand that for players to perform at their best, [and continue to love and play the game] it is our job to:
Create an environment where players feel safe taking risks, correcting mistakes, growing together, and competing without the pressure to perform skills that are not yet developed. We strongly believe this direction will prepare your child in the near future to show up in more competitive environments with stronger skill sets, on a high-performing team, and with more confidence to compete at any level.
Increase their strength and conditioning to better perform the skills needed to go to the next level.
Teach new skills by focusing more attention on position-specific fundamentals.
Help players better understand court movement with and without the ball, and on both offense and defense.
We strive to teach practice habits of champions based on fitness, mentality, preparation and time management.
Warm ups include game-like scenario drills, and challenging players to try new skills and moves. Even more, players will learn to use their instincts (react correctly given what the defense shows), and learn to play against all different types of players.
Games will take place every session giving players the opportunity to apply what they learn. As coaches, we reserve the opportunity to change game rules, for example: No dribble, three passes before scoring, only lay ups, or change teams.
