Our coaching style is founded on the belief that growth in an player’s skills, confidence and mindset stem from education, preparation and dedication. Our goal is to guide each player on how best to approach the game and believe in their power to continuously improve and contribute positively to their team. We also embrace working with parents to support and springboard the philosophies that they have instilled in their child. Our main objective is to help athletes perform at their best by building resilience, embracing challenges, learning new skills, and viewing effort as a path to success.

AOF BASKETBALL
3x3 DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE
The AOF Basketball 3x3 Development League is specifically designed for the ball player who wants to take their game to the next level. Players will be taught the fundamentals of basketball through 3x3 games, competitions, and drills, plus a focus on speed, agility, and mobility training. It is open to both girls and boys in the 4th - 8th grade, and is limited only by the total number of players we can accommodate. Girls and boys will not train together - there is both a girls and a boys league.
We will create game-like scenerio drills, challenge players to try new skills and moves, as well as learn how to become a team player that everyone wants on their team. Further, players will learn what it takes to play at a high level. We strive to teach the practice habits of champions based on fitness, mentality, preparation and time management.
League play will take place daily, giving players the opportunity to apply what they learn in development sessions and lectures while improving their overall skill and basketball knowledge.
As coaches, we reserve the opportunity change the rules, for example: No dribble, three passes before scoring, only lay ups, or change teams to make them even, or more challenging. Teams may change every week, and players will placed on teams within their skill ability, not age groups.
1) Skill Development

2) 3x3 Play
More touches (shots, handling the ball, passes, rebounds)
Everyone plays all positions: players learn to handle the ball looking to advance it forward, or score from different places on the court.
Learn how to play better defense: players learn help side defense and ball containment.
Increased Movement: pass and cut, screen aways, hard curls, ball screens, dribble drive action, catch and shoot, etc…
Improve fundamentals and increase knowledge of the game - the overarching goal.
3) Speed, Agility, Strength + Conditioning:
Athletic Performance - Drills designed to enhance conditioning, strength and agility. We focus on precise footwork so athletes better understand how important it is to be balanced and “stack their power” in order to improve and level up their game continuously.
Mental Performance - Developed through practice, a growth mindset is instilled during each session through encouraging sportsmanship, effort and self-awareness.
