Skill Development, Movement + Mobility Training
Our coaching style is founded on the belief that growth in an player’s skills, confidence and mindset stem from education, preparation and dedication. Our goal is to guide each player on how best to approach the game and believe in their power to continuously improve and contribute positively to their team. We also embrace working with parents to support and springboard the philosophies that they have instilled in their child. Our main objective is to help athletes perform at their best by building resilience, embracing challenges, learning new skills, and viewing effort as a path to success.

PRE-SEASON BASKETBALL
Training Program
The AOF Basketball Pre-Season Training Program is offered to basketball players who want to continue to elevate their game prior to the upcoming basketball season. This is not a travel basketball team. This pre-season training program focuses on building a strong physical and mental foundation with an emphasis on skill development, conditioning, strength, mobility, and establishing an unwavering growth mindset.
Sessions are designed to prepare players for the demands of the basketball season, through teaching the practice habits of champions based on fitness, mentality, preparation and time management.
It is open to both girls and boys in the 4th - 7th grade (teams are separated by gender).
1) Skill Development
Instruction designed to improve all aspects of a player’s fundamental skills. Through basketball specific drills, we will challenge players to try new skills, as well as understand the effort and energy needed to play at a high level. Mental Performance is just as important to us as physical performance. Developed through practice, a growth mindset is instilled during each session through encouraging sportsmanship, effort and self-awareness.
Players will play all positions: Improve ball handling, know how to advance the ball forward, and score from different positions on the floor.
Play better defense: We teach Man-to-Man defense, where players learn help side and ball containment, which will also contribute to zone defenses when they enter the regular season.
Gain a better understanding of Court Movement: pass and cut, screen aways, hard curls, ball screens, dribble drive action, catch and shoot, etc…
2) Strength and Conditioning Training
We focus on overall athletic performance with drills designed to enhance conditioning, strength and agility. Precise footwork is achieved when athletes better understand the importance of balance, and “stacking their power.”
Weight Training: Examples include how to properly perform and execute exercises such as squats, lunges, presses, and plyometrics to build strength, power, and agility.
Speed and Agility Training
Plyometrics: Designed to increase the rate at which muscles generate force, leading to more powerful movements, and enhancing functional movement.
Exercises enhance explosiveness, vertical and lateral movements.
Session Breakdown :
Skill Development: Defense (ex. Footwork + Boxing Out + Closing Out + Hip Mobility)
Speed, Agility, Plyometrics
Game Play: 1v1, 2v2
Skill Development: Offense (ex. Court Movement, Passing, Shooting + Ball Handling), Speed and Agility, Play with various constraints set by coaches to increase learning opportunities.
Mobility Training
Game Play: 3v3, 5v5 with pauses for learning opportunities.

Youth Basketball Clinics
Athletic Performance - Drills designed to enhance conditioning, strength and agility. We focus on precise footwork so athletes better understand how important it is to be balanced and “stack their power” in order to improve and level up their game continuously.
Skill Development - Instruction designed to improve all aspects of a player’s basketball game in an environment that incorporates team chemistry, and game-like scenarios.
Mental Performance - Developed through practice, a growth mindset is instilled during each session through encouraging sportsmanship, effort and self-awareness.
Athletic Performance - Drills are designed to build, and/or enhance a players overall skill set, focus on refining his or her strengths, and teach opportunities for overall growth as an individual player.
Skill Development - Instruction designed to improve all aspects of a player’s basketball game, with more time spent on position-specific skill work, and court awareness.
Mental Performance - Developed through multiple sessions, a growth mindset is instilled during each session through goal setting, encouraging positivity, visualization, and self-awareness.

Creating Opportunities, Teaching Movement, Focusing on Teamwork, Understanding Individual Responsibilities, and Knowing Their Role.
Skill Development: We begin each session with a focus on the fundamentals, and then hone in on the details that elevate each players’ game . We also work to improve players’ conditioning and strength, as well as offer guidance for optimal decision making on the court that will create the best outcomes and opportunities.
